The Grab section
How aggregator orders are handled: entering dishes, typing the total, commission and reconciliation against the platform report.
An aggregator has its own prices and its own commission, and a direct API is not always available. So a Grab order is entered at the register by hand — but in a way that keeps the kitchen and the stock working normally.
How it works
- Open the Grab section at the register.
- Enter the dishes from the order, exactly as in a normal receipt.
- Type in the total the aggregator shows: their prices differ, and recalculating them is pointless.
- Send to the kitchen — the ticket prints and stock is deducted when the order closes.
Why the total is typed by hand
Prices in the aggregator app differ from the dining-room prices, and the platform withholds commission and advertising deductions. If the register calculated the total from its own menu, revenue would never match the platform payout.
Reconciliation
Reports show Grab as three numbers:
| Line | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Entered by managers | The total entered at the register for the period |
| Estimate net of commission | A projection of what will arrive |
| Reconciled against the Grab report | The fact: what the platform actually transferred |
Only the reconciled figure counts as revenue. When the platform report arrives, the manager enters the actual amount for the period and the numbers stop being an estimate.
Delivery
Couriers for own-delivery orders are currently booked manually — by phone, with the fee agreed in conversation. This is the step that GrabExpress API access would replace — see Delivery and couriers.
Kitchen and stock
Work exactly as on a normal order: the ticket prints, ingredients are deducted by recipe. The stock does not care who paid.
