First venue set-up
Name, time zone, currency, opening hours, taxes, payment methods and language — what to fill in before the first shift.
Everything on this list is set up once and then hardly ever changes. Fifteen minutes here save a day of sorting things out later.
Required
| What | Where | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Venue name | Settings → Venue | Printed on the receipt and visible in chain reports |
| Time zone | Settings → Venue | Decides which day a late-night receipt belongs to |
| Currency | Settings → Venue | Can be changed only before the first sales |
| Opening hours | Settings → Venue | Used to count the night shift and the reminder about an unclosed shift |
| Payment methods | Settings → Money | Without them a receipt cannot be closed |
| Float | Settings → POS | The amount a shift opens with by default |
Taxes
Tax is configured in three modes: not calculated, included in the price and added on top. Separately you specify whether you pay the collected tax to the state — this decides whether it is printed on the receipt and how it is shown in the report.
In detail: Taxes and charges.
Changing the mode retroactively does not recalculate receipts already rung up: they keep the maths that applied at the moment of sale. That is right for the history, but unpleasant if you decide to sort out tax a month later.
Language
There are two different kinds of language in the system, and they are easy to mix up:
- interface language — chosen with a flag on each device, devices do not depend on each other;
- receipt and kitchen ticket language — a venue setting: the guest gets the receipt in one language, the cook gets the ticket in another.
Tips
If the venue accepts tips, turn them on and set quick percentages. Tips do not count towards the venue's revenue and appear as a separate line in the shift and in reports.
What can wait
- stock tracking — turned on step by step;
- floor plan — not needed if you serve at the counter;
- website orders — connected when you have a storefront;
- lamps, Telegram notifications, kitchen display — these are conveniences, not conditions for launch.
