Coupons and promo codes
How to set up a promotion, how a coupon is checked at the register and on the website storefront, what the report shows.
A coupon is a code the guest receives in a mailing, on a receipt or on the website and presents when ordering.
How to set one up
Create a promotion: the discount amount, the validity period, the conditions. The system issues the codes — one shared by everyone, or personal ones.
Where it works
- at the register — the cashier enters the code, the system checks and applies it;
- on the website storefront — the guest enters the code themselves, the storefront asks POSitive whether it is valid.
The check is the same, so the discount on the website and in the dining room never differs.
What is checked
- whether the code exists;
- whether it has expired;
- whether it has already been redeemed (for personal ones);
- whether it fits this order.
Promo code on the receipt
A block with a promo code can be added to the receipt — for example, “leave a review and get a discount”. This is set up in the receipt editor.
Report
You see how many codes were issued, how many were redeemed and for what amount. That is the answer to the question “did the promotion work” — together with the revenue for the same period.
