Item matching
How storefront codes are linked to the register menu, what to do with an unknown item and how to fix it.
The storefront sends an order as codes of its own items. For the order to become a receipt, each code has to be linked to a register dish. This is done once per item.
How to link
Open matching in the settings or straight from the order card: the system shows the unknown codes and offers to pick a dish. After that the link is remembered — the next such order is assembled by itself.
Add-ons
Modifiers are matched the same way: storefront add-on code → register modifier option. If an add-on is linked to an option that has a recipe, the products are taken off the stock.
The order goes through, the money arrives, but nothing is taken off the stock. A month later it looks like “an unexplained shortage of sauces”.
If an item is not recognised
The order is not rejected. The manager sees in the card which lines need attention and picks the dish by hand. This is a deliberate decision: turning a guest away because of our unlinked line is the worst option.
Common causes of mismatches
- a new dish was added on the storefront but doesn’t exist in the register yet;
- the item was renamed on the website, and the link was by name rather than by code;
- the dish was archived in the register but stayed on the storefront.
The first is fixed by adding the dish, the second by switching to codes, the third by restoring it from the archive or removing the item from the storefront.
