Receiving goods
How to enter a delivery: items, pack sizes, prices, supplier, and what happens after posting.
A receipt is the only way a product price gets into the system. Hence the requirement: prices in a receipt must be real.
How to enter it
- Create a receipt, choose the store and the supplier.
- Add the items: product, quantity in the purchase pack size, price.
- Enter the invoice number and date — the document is searched by them later.
- Check the total against the paper.
- Post the receipt.
Faster — take a photo of the invoice and let the system recognise the items.
Pack sizes
Quantity is entered in what was delivered: three boxes, two crates, a sack. The system converts it into kilograms and litres using the product’s pack size.
Price
The price is entered per pack or per unit — whichever is more convenient. It matters that it is the delivery price, not a price-list price: dish costs are built from it.
What happens after posting
- the stock balance increases;
- the product’s weighted average price is recalculated;
- the cost of every dish that uses it changes;
- the document becomes unchangeable.
A mistake in a posted receipt
Make a reversal and enter a correct document. There is no silent editing: it would quietly rewrite the cost of all sales made after this receipt.
Overhead costs
For now it makes sense to enter delivery and other costs of a delivery as a separate financial operation. Spreading such costs across items (landed cost) is planned.
