Backdated receipts
When a sale has to be recorded with a past date, which permission it needs and what goes into the log.
Sometimes a sale has to be recorded on a past day: the venue worked without a connection and without a register, a banquet was counted on paper, a corporate order was forgotten. There is a separate operation for this — and a separate permission.
How it works
When creating a receipt you can set a sale date in the past — up to a few days back. It requires:
- the
receipt.backdatepermission — by default neither the cashier nor the waiter has it; - a reason — as text; it goes into the log.
What happens to prices and stock
Prices are taken from the menu history for the given date, not today’s: a three-day-old receipt must not be calculated at a price that changed yesterday. Stock is deducted the same way as for a normal sale.
Every such receipt is marked, appears in Control with its author and reason, and is shown separately in reports. The operation exists to honestly close missed sales, and abuse of it is noticeable at once.
What you cannot do
- record a receipt with a future date;
- go further back than the allowed number of days;
- combine a past date with a manual price — these are two different exceptions, and they do not work together.
