Recipes at the register
The recipe book on the tablet: dishes and semi-finished items with gross and net weights, search by dish and by product, works without internet.
“Recipes” is the book of tech cards right on the register tablet. A cook, a bartender or a manager can look up what goes into a dish or a semi-finished item at the stove, without going into the back office. The section is read-only: a recipe cannot be changed here, and there is no money in it at all — neither cost nor purchase prices.
Where to find it
The “Recipes” tile is in the “More” menu of the new register look.
The look is switched on the tablet itself: in the classic look — “Panel → Device → Till look → New”, in the new one — the employee menu → “Till look”. The choice applies only to this tablet: the register next to it keeps its own look.
Anyone with the permission to view the menu can open the section. In the standard roles everyone has it — from waiter to owner.
What is in a dish recipe
- ingredients line by line — a product or a semi-finished item, gross and net in its own unit: grams, kilograms, millilitres, pieces;
- the processing method on a line, if it is given in the tech card: boiling, frying, stewing, baking;
- cooking time and allergens — if they are set in the dish card;
- variants — a dish with several variants has a switch at the top: “4 pcs” and “8 pcs” have different ingredients, and the selected one is shown.
Semi-finished items
A line marked “semi ›” is a semi-finished item. Tap it, and its own recipe opens: ingredients, yield, cooking time, shelf life and a description of the method, if it has been filled in. The back button returns you to the dish you came from.
All semi-finished items with ingredients are also gathered separately — under the “Semi-finished” chip above the list.
Search and categories
- Search looks both by dish name in any of the three languages and by a product in the ingredients: “salmon” shows every dish and semi-finished item that contains salmon.
- Category chips above the list — only the categories that have dishes with a tech card.
Which dishes go into the book
Only dishes and variants that have a tech card, and only non-archived ones. If a dish is not in the book, it has no ingredients: the tech card is set up in the back office, “Menu → Dishes (recipes)” → dish → ingredients. How to put one together — Tech cards.
If the venue has no tech cards at all yet, the section says so and points to where to set them up.
Without internet
The book is loaded in full and saved on the tablet, like the menu. If the connection drops and the section has already been opened on this tablet, the recipes stay available — as they were at the last load.
What is not here
- cost and purchase prices — not with any permission: the whole dining room can see this section;
- editing — ingredients are changed only in the back office; the register shows the changes the next time the section is opened.
