Discounts, vouchers and zero receipts
Discount presets, discounts as an amount or a percentage, website promo codes and closing a receipt without payment.
At the register a discount can only be given by those who have the permission. Every discount is recorded with the employee’s name — it is the first thing people look at when investigating a shortage.
Presets
Ready-made discounts are set up in the back office and appear at the register as buttons: “Staff 30 %”, “Birthday 10 %”, “Business lunch”. The cashier does not need to calculate anything — they pick from the list.
A preset is recalculated when the order changes: a dish was added — the discount recalculated itself.
Manual discount
If the permission allows, a discount can be set as an amount or a percentage of the whole order. Such discounts are shown separately in Control — this is where money leaks most often.
Item discount
A discount can be applied not to the whole receipt but to a single line — for example, if a dish was brought late.
Vouchers and promo codes
A promo code the guest received on the website or in a newsletter is entered at the register. The system checks whether it is valid, whether it has already been redeemed and whether it fits this order. It works the same at the register and in the website storefront — a promotion is set up once.
In detail: Vouchers and promo codes.
Zero receipt
A treat or a gift is closed without payment. Important: the products are deducted — a treat costs the venue money, and reports show it.
For a mistake there is cancelling an item and a refund. “Close without payment” is an operation with a reason, and in the monthly report it shows up as an amount.
