Split bill
How to split an order between guests: by item or evenly, what gets printed and how it shows in reports.
A group at a table paying separately is the norm, not the exception. An order can be split after the kitchen has already cooked everything.
How to split
- Open the order and choose “Split the bill”.
- Distribute the items between the guests — an item can be given whole or divided.
- Close each guest’s bill with their own payment method: one pays by card, another in cash.
Each part prints as a separate receipt. In reports it is still one order from the table, divided into several payments — revenue is not doubled.
If the group simply splits evenly, do not drag items around: enter the number of guests, and the register divides the total itself.
What happens to stock
Stock is deducted once — for what was actually cooked, no matter how many parts the bill is split into.
Common situations
One guest leaves early. Close their part; the remaining items stay in the open order at the table.
A guest wants a receipt for their own dishes only. That is exactly what a split bill does: their receipt will contain only their items.
A mistake when splitting. Until payment is made, the distribution can be changed freely. After payment the only correction is a refund.
